ARTIST STATEMENT
My work investigates the relationship between materiality and emotion, using the language of abstraction to explore states of being. Through the deliberate application of acrylic paint on canvas, I seek to capture moments of pressure, stillness, and concentration — fundamental aspects of human experience.
Each painting emerges from a dialogue between control and surrender. I begin with intention but allow the medium to guide the process, creating works that exist in the space between planning and spontaneity. The resulting compositions invite viewers to project their own experiences and emotions onto the canvas.
Color plays a crucial role in my practice. I gravitate toward muted, earthy tones punctuated by moments of intensity. These chromatic choices reflect my interest in the subtle gradations of feeling that characterize daily life — the quiet moments between dramatic events.
Based in Paris since 2003, I continue to explore these themes through an ongoing series of large-scale abstract works. My studio practice is both meditative and physical, requiring sustained concentration and bodily engagement with the canvas.
